CTO Search is run by me, Etienne de Bruin, through everydev, Inc. This page says what information I collect, what I do with it, and how to get it removed. It is written to be read, not scrolled past.
What I collect
When you fill in a form, take the CTO Levels assessment, or apply as a candidate, I store what you give me: your name, email address, company, your assessment answers, and, for candidates, career details such as a LinkedIn profile and role history. Assessment answers are used to build your results and, for company assessments, an aggregate view of your organization.
Analytics without cookies
This site uses my own analytics, not a third-party tracker. There are no cookies, no fingerprinting across sites, and no ad networks. Visits are counted with a salted identifier that rotates daily, and your raw IP address is never stored.
I send email through Resend. Delivery events and opens are recorded so I know whether a report or an invitation reached you. You can ignore or reply to anything I send; a reply always reaches a person.
Services that process data for me
The site and its database run on Vercel and Neon. Assessment reports and briefs are drafted with Anthropic's Claude, which means assessment content passes through their API to generate your report. Engagement letters are signed through DocuSign. For candidates I represent, I may enrich a profile with public professional data via People Data Labs. Each of these processes data on my instructions; none of them may use it for their own purposes.
What I never do
I do not sell your information. I do not share candidate identities with a client before terms exist, and anonymized candidate materials stay anonymized until then. Company assessment data is shared inside your own organization's engagement, nowhere else.
Retention and removal
I keep records while a relationship is live or reasonably could be. Use the contact form and ask; I will delete your data, usually within a few days, except records I am required to keep for signed engagements.
